This leadership role will provide the single point of accountability for GSK’s engineering services as the Head of Engineering, Biologics and Devices with responsibility for 8 sites. You will lead by embedding collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion that embraces GSK’s culture.
Key Responsibilities:
The job holder role is to…
1. Provide a single point accountability engineering service to the Head of Biologics and Devices Manufacturing Group with responsibility for 8 sites.
2. Manage Manufacturing Group supply base assets to ensure security of supply of Rx products.
3. Apply Global Engineering Standards, EHS, Automation, and Sustainability programs to the sites.
4. Deliver productivity and cost saving projects for pharmaceutical product supply through Engineering and Automation deployment.
5. Deliver network change projects as aligned to strategy i.e., Site divestment, site restructuring, facility decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition; support site remediations where applicable.
6. Drive efficiency and standardization within Biologics, Sterile, Ellipta, Discus, MDI, and Solid dose equipment portfolio
7. Drive standardization across the site network as well as partnership arrangements with strategic suppliers of equipment and services
8. Deliver automation standards and smart manufacturing innovation within the Manufacturing Group to support productivity improvement.
9. Member of the GSC Engineering Leadership team and Biologics and Devices LT team
10. Build regional organizational capability and competence to deliver objectives, working with the Engineering COE to identify and execute value projects and the appropriate development and application of standards.
11. Lead engineering development and succession planning for 8 sites with an engineering population of ~700 employees.
Basic Qualifications:
12. Bachelor of Engineering
13. Experienced in buildg regional organizational capability and competence to deliver objectives, working with the Engineering COE to identify and execute value projects and the appropriate development and application of standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
14. Bachelor of Engineering with preferred specialization in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Automation/Civil
15. Knowledge in therapeutic areas including Oncology, Respiratory, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases
16. Demonstration of successful coaching/mentoring and direct people management skills
17. Proven success leading teams, fostering team productivity and cohesiveness, and working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
18. Ability to thrive in a matrix environment and to interact effectively across boundaries using influencing & relationship building skills.
19. Experience in developing and implementing agile, creative solutions, helping to solve business challenges within the organization and in partnership with external collaborators.
20. Excellent communication and computer skills
21. Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
