The Medicines Effectiveness Team is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the newly established Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group. This innovative team, alongside the Medicines Effectiveness Team, will play a pivotal role in driving cost-saving initiatives across biologic medicines while ensuring that patients continue to receive the highest standards of care.
The Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group will focus on identifying, promoting, and implementing strategies to maximise cost-saving opportunities for both commissioners and the Trust. By evaluating and optimising biologic prescribing and usage, the team will ensure value for money across the healthcare system, maintaining clinical effectiveness and safety.
As a member of this dynamic team, you will collaborate with clinical and financial stakeholders, including prescribers, pharmacists, commissioners, and procurement teams, to identify areas for cost efficiencies, particularly in biosimilars and other biologic therapies. The post holder will support clinical teams in mobilising identified cost-saving opportunities.

* Assisting pharmacists and technicians in delivering identified savings, including administrative tasks related to these switches.
* Maintaining accurate records of cost-saving initiatives, their status, obstacles, and timelines through the Cost Effective Use of Medicines (CEUM) tracker.
