We are looking for a Section Foreperson to join our infrastructure team based on the A47 Thickhorn project in Norwich. You will be supported by the Highways General Foreperson and the wider sectional management team. You are expected to liaise and support the team to coordinate the daily management of a section of work. You will ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental and quality standards are met whilst delivering to the project programme.
What you'll do:
1. Implement the relevant requirements of the SMS within their area of responsibility
2. Ensure that all RAMS and PERMITS are briefed to the work gang.
3. Ensure that their operatives receive all Safety and Environmental Bulletins and Tool Box Talks, and are aware of any Safety and Environmental issues
4. Ensure that and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures (RAMS) are effectively communicated to the Operatives, particularly to those engaged on activities that have been identified as likely to have a significant environmental impact.
5. Ensure that they and their direct reports attend the site pre-task Briefing.
6. STOP all work deemed to be unsafe. Investigate cause and effect.
7. Report all Incidents, Accidents, Near Misses and Hazards in a Timely Manner.
8. Promote an Injury Free Culture through; Leading by example, building relationships, sharing best practice and innovation
What you'll bring to the role:
9. NVQ Level 3 or above
10. Successful experience at Section Foreperson level.
11. Understanding and experience of construction techniques and best practices
12. Competence with digital tools.
13. Basic computer competence
14. Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS minimum)
15. Relevant CSCS Card
16. Full Driving license.
