Overview
A client within the private sector based in Manchester is recruiting for a Senior Principal Designer: Building Regulations & CDM to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or regulated environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide technical leadership and compliance oversight on design projects, ensuring Building Regulations and CDM 2015 duties are met.
* Leading on design management and coordination, including project team meetings.
* Assessing detailed designs against Building Regulations, including Schedule 1 requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations 2023 Part 2A and duty holder responsibilities.
* Reviewing RAMS, conducting site inspections, and advising on health and safety compliance.
* Supporting Gateway 2 applications and compliance sign-off processes.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
* A degree-level qualification in Building Control, Architecture, or Structural Engineering.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (APS, IOSH, CABE).
* Experience of working with Building Regulations and CDM Regulations.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Health and safety inspection and compliance experience.
* Familiarity with HRB work or willingness to develop expertise.
* Access Audit or RAMS review experience.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering a salary of £50,000–£60,000, with hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days at home) and opportunities for development. This role can be based in either the Manchester or Liverpool office.
