A warm and welcoming primary school in BS4, Bristol is looking for a kind, calm and patient 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with a background of trauma from January.
The school is lovely, supportive and nurturing, and is looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship and provide consistent emotional and learning support.
The Role
- Full time 1 to 1 support for a primary aged pupil
- Provide emotional regulation support and help the child feel safe and settled in school
- Follow support plans and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Help the child access learning in class and through tailored activities
- Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Contribute to observations and feedback on progress and wellbeing
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, trauma or social, emotional and mental health needs
- A kind, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with staff and families
- Team Teach trained, or willing to attend our Team Teach course in February half term
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
