Overview
We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Midlands team, based in either Derby or Nottingham. You will work across a wide range of projects supporting clients on complex and high-value programmes, with an initial emphasis on the Water sector.
Responsibilities
* Work with clients across the public and private sector, using your technical and other skills to share knowledge, expertise and experience, and to deliver high-quality services.
* Collaborate with clients and their supply chain partners to develop and deliver solutions to complex and dynamic problems.
* Develop relationships with national infrastructure clients and operate with a growth mindset to build those relationships and contribute to client success.
* Apply commercial and procurement expertise to advise and deliver a wide range of commercial, procurement and supply chain requirements, focusing on maximum value within the client’s supply chain ecosystem.
* Work as a team player with developing leadership capabilities and the softer consulting skills required to thrive in a client environment.
* Demonstrate experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor on major programmes and complex infrastructure projects in construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil and gas, or the UK public sector.
* Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial/construction discipline, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or an equivalent recognised body.
* Have experience with construction contracts such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC, and be able to advise clients on their application.
* Have experience of dispute avoidance, with the ability to identify commercial or contractual issues early and support timely resolution.
* Have experience of line management or leading a team, with the ability to provide clear direction and support development.
* Be able to work in a client-facing environment alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions to complex client or industry challenges.
* Have strong communication and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to engage across complex stakeholder environments and secure buy-in.
* Demonstrate the willingness to develop technical and consulting skills to deliver excellent service to clients, representing the company brand effectively.
* Experience in business development and win-work activities, such as bid writing, pre-contract engagement, and client relationship management.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Member of RICS or an equivalent recognised body.
* Experience with NEC, JCT, and FIDIC contracts and ability to advise on their application.
