We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join as a Student Recruitment and Outreach Officer. You will support the team in organizing, delivering, and evaluating outreach activities to meet the University’s Access and Participation Plan and recruitment targets. This involves developing in-school and online programs, workshops, activities, and presentations to engage students, parents, and teachers. You will have opportunities for growth within our professional Marketing and Student Recruitment team.


The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate and communicate effectively with young people. Responsibilities include managing events from inception to delivery, leading a team of Student Ambassadors, and undertaking local and national travel. A full clean driving license and DBS clearance are essential. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Job Description

Job Title: Student Recruitment and Outreach Officer

Faculty/Directorate: Marketing and Student Recruitment

Grade: E

Location: High Wycombe

Hours: 37

Responsible to: Recruitment and Outreach Manager


Main Duties & Responsibilities

* Implement recruitment strategies across the UK
* Design engaging content for young people, families, and teachers
* Deliver presentations and workshops to prospective students and stakeholders
* Build and maintain contacts in schools and colleges
* Evaluate activities for engagement and effectiveness
* Network with other HEIs for best practices
* Represent the university at recruitment fairs
* Research sector trends and inform outreach activities
* Advise academic teams on outreach strategies
* Maintain GDPR-compliant data records
* Follow safeguarding procedures and pass DBS checks
* Perform additional duties as assigned


Person Specification - Essential Criteria

* Degree or equivalent experience in education
* Experience in delivering student outreach in higher education
* Experience in presentations and workshops for secondary students
* Experience working with young people, parents, and advisors
* Networking skills and relationship building
* Knowledge of UK HE sector issues and national recruitment agendas
* Understanding of undergraduate admissions processes
