Overview
Experis is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer / Network SME / Infrastructure Engineer to support a data centre network refresh project.
This is a short-term, hands-on contract ideal for an experienced engineer who can take full ownership of delivery, from network decommissioning and migration through to installation, configuration, and cabling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver a full data centre network refresh / upgrade / migration
2. Perform network decommissioning of legacy infrastructure
3. Install, rack, and configure network switches (Juniper / enterprise switching)
4. Carry out structured cabling installation (Cat6, copper, patching, termination)
5. Support network deployment, implementation, and infrastructure roll-out
6. Ensure delivery aligns with Statement of Work (SOW) and project scope
7. Work independently as a standalone engineer / field engineer / deployment engineer
8. Provide clear updates to stakeholders and project contacts
Key Deliverables
9. End-to-end network refresh completed within 5-day window
10. Clean and structured decommissioning of existing network estate
11. High-quality network installation, cabling, and configuration
12. Stable and operational data centre network environment
13. Documentation and handover (where required)
Required Skills & Experience
14. Proven experience as a: Network Engineer / Network SME / Infrastructure Engineer / Data Centre Engineer
15. Strong hands-on experience delivering: Network refresh / migration / upgrade projectsOn-site deployments and installations
16. Technical expertise in: Structured cabling (Cat5e / Cat6 / copper / patch panels / termination)Switch installation and configuration (Juniper preferred, Cisco also relevant)
17. Experience working in: Data centre environments / server rooms / enterprise infrastructure
