About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client in Ballymena for an experienced
Accounts Assistant
. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts administration who enjoys working with detail, problem-solving, and supporting financial processes across multiple areas.
What You'll Do
HP Liabilities
* Maintain HP liability schedules and reconcile monthly transactions.
* Complete monthly and YTD commentary on HP liabilities and interest.
* Post new HP liability agreements into Sage.
* Provide support with ad hoc queries.
Depreciation
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
* Reconcile depreciation nominals and complete monthly charts with commentary.
* Support with depreciation-related queries.
GMR & Supplementary Declarations
* Complete GMR when required.
* Ensure all documentation for supplementary declarations is accurate and submitted on time.
Purchasing
* Engage with production teams to understand stock requirements.
* Manage the Kanban system and ensure timely purchasing.
* Conduct supplier price comparisons and resolve variance queries across delivery notes, purchase orders, and invoices.
Inventory Management
* Assist with inventory control and reporting.
Reporting
* Prepare weekly OFI charts and support OGI reporting.
* Assist with production operations reports.
* Contribute to business performance packs, monthly and year-end reports, and budgeting.
* Support with month-end reporting, including stock adjustment journals.
Other Responsibilities
* Ensure quality and consistency across all tasks.
* Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings.
* Support with other ad hoc business-related tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* 2+ years' experience in a similar accounts role.
* Proficiency in
Sage 50 Accounts
.
* Advanced Excel and strong systems experience.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Team player with strong organisational skills.
* Previous administrative/customer service experience.
* Experience in credit control, including telephone communications.
