We're currently partnering with a leading organisation in the professional services sector, looking to bring an IT Support Engineer into their Manchester-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working hands-on with tech, and delivering a high standard of support to internal users.
About the Role
As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you'll act as a key player in the internal IT function, supporting users, managing hardware and software issues, and helping to maintain the business's IT systems and infrastructure. This is a broad role offering both day-to-day support and involvement in wider IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 2nd line support across the organisation (hardware and software).
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
* Active Directory & Group Policy
* Endpoint patching and compliance
* Laptop and desktop break/fix and setup
* Assist in general end-user IT support, both face-to-face and remotely.
* Collaborate with the wider IT team to escalate infrastructure or network-related issues.
* Support asset and hardware procurement and ensure appropriate stock levels.
* Maintain accurate documentation and follow ITIL-aligned service desk processes.
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience in a 2nd line or advanced IT support/service desk role
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows OS, O365, AD, Group Policy)
* Hands-on experience with patching tools and hardware troubleshooting
* Exposure to supporting Apple/iOS devices
* Confident communicator with experience supporting users in a professional setting
* Organised and proactive and able to manage tasks independently and as part of a wider team
