Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE) About the Company: We’re supporting a well-established and growing engineering business in Gainsborough as they look to strengthen their design team with the appointment of a Mechanical Design Engineer. The company design and manufacture bespoke machinery and mechanical systems, and are currently on an exciting upward trajectory with strong growth plans and a secure long-term order book. The Role: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering a wide variety of bespoke machinery design projects. Working from initial concept through to manufacture, your work will directly contribute to the development and continuous improvement of innovative machinery systems. Key responsibilities will include: * Creating detailed 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, layout drawings and manufacturing drawings. * Producing accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) * Modifying and improving existing designs and components to required standards * Supporting the development of new designs and concepts from initial brief through to production * Collaborating closely with other design engineers, production teams and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery * Problem-solving and providing technical input to overcome design and production challenges About You: We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused engineer who enjoys solving problems and working as part of a collaborative team.
