Application Engineer
12 Month Contract – 37 hours per week
Based: Christchurch
Onsite Full time – Monday to Friday
Hourly rate: £44.74 PAYE or £57.84 per hour Inside IR35
Overview
BAE Systems is looking for a talented and motivated Application Engineer to join their engineering team in Christchurch, supporting a range of high-profile Ministry of Defence programmes.
Working within an established 45-strong team, you'll contribute to the delivery and support of a fully integrated Command & Control system used across multiple MoD sites.
Responsibilities
Designing, coding, and testing bespoke software applications
Troubleshooting and resolving issues within live production environments
Following established software engineering best practices
Producing high-quality technical documentation
Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Conducting peer reviews and sharing technical knowledge
Reporting progress and contributing to technical discussions
Supporting deployment and testing activities at customer sites when required
Skills & Experience:
Strong proficiency in C# and Visual Studio
Experience with Windows Forms and .NET Framework
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with configuration management and version control
Experience deploying software in virtual environments
Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2019/2022 configuration
