We are seeking an R&D Chemist for Getinge UKI, based on-site at our UKI Head Office in Derby, East Midlands. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will play an integral role in the research and development (R&D) team, providing technical support for all R&D activities and related areas.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out all work in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) to agreed timelines and specifications.
* Performing technical service work as requested and communicating results effectively with customers. Processing samples related to technical service activities, recording, and reporting results as appropriate.
* Providing absence/holiday cover for the manufacturing QC function as required.
* Conducting R&D on new products, improving existing formulations, and evaluating new and alternative raw materials.
* Attending QC meetings as required, producing data on QC test results, and working on technical improvements in production processes.
* Representing the department at meetings, producing and presenting data on project progress and test results.
* Collaborating effectively with Getinge colleagues and external contacts to achieve desired outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline (essential).
* Relevant industrial experience (desirable).
* Knowledge and experience in chemical formulation (desirable).
* Perseverance, patience, and attention to detail.
* Effective communication of information and working instructions is essential.
