Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but we can also accommodate work of 12 hours per week if you wish.
We will schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows and provide a three weeks notice of shifts. We support flexibility for colleagues, and we welcome applications even if your availability is slightly different.

As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver your customers shopping trips from Lands End to John OGroats. The role is more than just driving – it involves helping customers and delivering great service with a smile.
The work is hands‑on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same. You will feel like your own boss, delivering to customers while a team of Managers supports you when needed.

Responsibilities
Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by:
* Ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
* Keeping the back yard clean, tidy and free of rubbish, picking up litter as you see it.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van as required and checking its roadworthiness.
* Communicating with the customer about any changes to their order, including substitutions and offering refunds for anything unsatisfied.
* Handling products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged for their substitutions.
* Delivering during the appointment time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving if early.
* Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
Qualifications
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make sure the store is the best it can be for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say "Thank you."
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Be energetic and driven, integrating home and work to achieve a balance.
* Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on improving the store for customers.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
