Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off; 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team at Britvic, a leading company in the Food & Beverages industry. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our production facilities, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality products that enhance life's everyday moments.


Role Responsibilities

* Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on production equipment and machinery.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring efficient operations.
* Conduct equipment inspections and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
* Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel as needed.
* Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization.


Experience and Key Attributes

* Proven experience as an Engineering Technician or a similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial equipment, machinery, and control systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.


Education/Qualifications

Must haves:

* Candidates will be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent.
* Knowledge and demonstration of the relevant Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental aspects (including Food Safety).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Analytical coupled with practical skills.
* IT literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) is essential and able to mine, trend, analyse and present data.
* Understanding of 'right first time' principles.
* Have knowledge of, and actively use, the site Lean Principles (e.g. RCM, RCA, PDCA - Problem Solving Techniques, 5S, 5-Why? etc) and Operational Excellence.
* Able to lead and facilitate fact finding, technical fault finding and mechanism studies.


Desirable

* Candidates will preferably possess a HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent.
* Ideally, they will be multi-disciplined (mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, software), with a time-served apprenticeship background in a manufacturing engineering environment.
* IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) desirable.
* SAP PM knowledge desirable.
* Manufacturing/Food/Beverage/FMCG industry experience desirable.
* TPM practitioner in a FMCG environment is desirable.
* Ability to train/coach others is desirable.
