Role overview
We are recruiting for a commercially astute Senior Land Manager to support our growth within the Eastern region, based at our St Albans office. You will motivate, develop and manage our land team to investigate and appraise all possible sites for development within the eastern region. You will work closely with the Land Director as well as our planning, construction and design teams on a day-to-day basis. The role is fast moving and sociable; you’ll liaise with Local Authorities, Estate Agents and Land Owners daily. You’ll be required to make a minimum number of recommendations to purchase land in line with the Regional Land objectives. You will have the opportunity to help the company grow through the acquisition of new sites. You’ll see your efforts rewarded with successful planning applications and customers who love their independent, safe and secure home.
Your duties will include finding new sites for the company to purchase, negotiating the purchase of them and undertaking detailed reviews of settlements.
Responsibilities
* Find and appraise new sites for purchase within the Eastern region.
* Negotiate land purchases and conduct detailed reviews of settlements.
* Coach, motivate and manage the land team; collaborate with Land Director and planning/construction/design teams.
* Liaise with Local Authorities, Estate Agents and Land Owners on a day-to-day basis.
* Make recommendations to purchase land in line with Regional Land objectives.
* Support growth through acquisition of new sites and contribute to successful planning outcomes.
Hours and travel
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am–5:30pm and Friday 9:00am–5:00pm. Overtime may be required during peak times and frequent travel outside of the office is required.
About you / Qualifications
* Extensive land experience within the property sector, ideally experience of acquiring land in city and town centres.
* Ability to influence decisions using appropriate methods and facts; proven negotiation, communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrable people management experience, including training and one-to-ones.
* Analytical, driven, target-focused and capable of overcoming challenges.
* Essential: valid UK driving license and competent driver; you will spend a large proportion of time out of the office.
