Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Otolaryngology
Join to apply for the Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Otolaryngology role at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. This post is a 12-month appointment commencing in August 2026 and is recognised and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England; the post holder will receive a certificate recognising successful completion of the post.
Overview
As a Senior Paediatric ENT Clinical Fellow, you will be part of a busy tertiary paediatric ENT service at Alder Hey and contribute to the clinical leadership and education of the department.
Responsibilities
* Lead the junior team overseeing the clinical management of inpatients, including Emergency and elective patients and a weekly Tracheostomy patient round.
* Arrange weekly teaching sessions within the department.
* Engage in timetabled weekly activities including outpatients (3 sessions) and theatres (5 sessions).
* Participate in specialist clinics including craniofacial clinic, allergy clinic, Breathlessness and complex airway clinic.
* Fulfil on-call duties: 1 in 7 covering Alder Hey and The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen NHS Trust (and a second on-call as required).
* Adhere to the EWTD, with a Band 2B salary supplement.
* Support the hospital’s move towards a paperless environment; computing skill fluency is essential.
* Participate in work-based assessments and ensure completion; a summary of experience will be shared on the Royal College of Surgeons of England digital platform.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Post recognised and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England; certificate awarded on successful completion.
* EWTD compliant with Band 2B supplement; on-call requirements as described.
* Computing skill fluency and ability to operate in a paperless environment.
