Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting clear goals, and tracking performance.
* Creating a positive team culture through recruitment, training, and development of staff, building a motivated and high-performing team.
* Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions and identify opportunities for operational and commercial improvements.
* Acting as the point of contact in the Store Manager's absence.
* Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
* Managing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
* Providing feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
* Supporting the Store Manager in staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
* Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
* Driving additional KPIs such as Units, Conversion, ATV, and UPT.
* Achieving upselling and cross-selling targets.
* Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensuring stock accuracy during audits.
* Completing mandatory training for new colleagues.
* Meeting or exceeding employee satisfaction and engagement survey benchmarks.
* Assisting in keeping operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
* Passion for retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
* Experience in coaching and developing staff.
* Strong communication skills.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decision-making.
* Attention to detail and commercial awareness; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
* Ability to promote JD Group values internally and externally.
