Maintenance Manager – Inverness

Global Highland is proud to be supporting our client, a leading manufacturing organisation based in Inverness, in their search for an experienced Maintenance Manager.
This key leadership role reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all processes, systems, equipment and people are effectively maintained and developed. The successful candidate will drive asset improvement, reliability, and operational performance while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with company and legislative requirements.
*
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance within agreed timescales.
*
Review and enhance site effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
*
Manage and implement maintenance strategies, driving best practice and modern manufacturing principles.
*
Develop and manage KPIs across key operational areas to track performance and promote continuous improvement.
*
Oversee maintenance budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with business goals.
*
Ensure all plant, buildings, and facilities are fit for purpose, providing proactive solutions to operational challenges.
*
Support the safe management of contractors on site, ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
*
Prepare reports, deliver presentations, and contribute effectively to management meetings.
Essential:
*
Time-served engineer in electrical, mechanical, or electronic disciplines.
*
Degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering field, or significant experience in a Maintenance Manager role.
*
Proven experience within industrial or manufacturing environments.
*
Strong understanding of maintenance budgeting, cost control, and P&L responsibility.
*
Confident leader with the ability to challenge, influence, and engage at all levels.
*
Safety-focused with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
Desirable:
*
Membership (or working towards) a relevant professional body such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
*
Experience with high voltage systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, pressure vessels, or thermal oil systems.
