Overview
The Head of Legal and Compliance will lead Dabble UK’s legal and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to UK regulations including UKGC, AML, UK GDPR, and others. This strategic role involves developing compliance programs, providing legal counsel, liaising with regulators, and fostering a culture of compliance. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of UK policies, legislation, and industry standards in sports gambling/online wagering.
Primary Location
Open to candidates in Leeds and surrounding areas, with consideration for other UK locations.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement compliance programs for UKGC LCCP requirements, AML, and fair gaming
* Monitor regulatory changes and update policies accordingly
* Oversee UK compliance frameworks, including self-exclusion, AML/CTF, affordability checks, and safer gambling tools
* Ensure timely regulatory reporting
* Implement AML policies like CDD, KYC, and suspicious activity reporting
* Provide legal advice on contracts, governance, data protection, and consumer protection
* Negotiate commercial agreements aligned with UK law
* Manage litigation and regulatory investigations
* Lead UK GDPR compliance efforts
* Ensure advertising complies with UKGC, ASA, CAP guidelines, avoiding content appealing to under-18s
* Keep leadership updated on regulatory changes and risks
* Prepare briefings on legislative trends

Skills & Qualifications
* Expertise in UKGC regulations, AML, and UK GDPR
* Experience in gambling, finance, or regulated industries
* Engagement with UK regulators and complex compliance management

* High ethical standards and compliance culture advocacy
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects independently
* Qualifications in compliance, law, or risk management
* 10+ years legal/regulatory experience, 5+ years leadership
* Bachelor’s in related fields or qualified solicitor/barrister in England and Wales (preferred)

Remuneration
Salary: £100,000 - £110,000 + Benefits, negotiable.
