We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, energetic, and clinically confident Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Worker to join our Croydon Community Perinatal Team.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing assessment, intervention, and treatment to women with moderate to severe mental health disorders in the perinatal period.
2. Managing a caseload, working within a multidisciplinary team, and participating in joint complex assessments.
3. Collaborating with agencies such as Children and Family Social Services, Midwifery, Obstetric teams, CMHTs, Health Visitors, and the Voluntary sector.
4. Supervising junior staff and student nurses, and implementing best practices based on NICE guidelines.
The role is based at Larkbarrow House, Bethlem Royal Hospital, with services spanning Croydon and other London boroughs. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9-5.
This position requires experience in adult inpatient, Mother and Baby inpatient units, community mental health services, or CAMHS, and working with women suffering from mental illness in the perinatal period. Familiarity with Perinatal community standards, governance, and performance structures is essential.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge, skilled practice, and the ability to work in a diverse borough environment. The role offers opportunities for supervision, training, and participation in the Pan London Community Perinatal Nurses network.
