CNC Machinist

This CNC Machinist opportunity is with a well-established UK precision manufacturing business producing high quality, close tolerance components for demanding industrial applications. The company has a strong reputation for quality, long term stability, and investing in skilled engineers, with modern machinery and a professional shop floor environment.
They are currently looking to add two CNC Machinists to the team, one CNC Miller and one CNC Turner. This is a hands-on CNC Machinist role suited to someone who enjoys working to tight tolerances, taking ownership of their work, and being part of a quality focused manufacturing team.
As a CNC Machinist, you will be involved in producing precision components to tolerances typically around 25 to 30 microns, working from engineering drawings, setting, operating, and where possible programming CNC machines. This CNC Machinist position offers variety, technical challenge, and the chance to develop further programming skills.
The CNC Machinist role will involve:
Setting and operating CNC milling or lathes to produce precision components
Programming from scratch at the machine where required, with support available
Using offline programming software where applicable, with Fusion 360 currently in use
Working to close tolerances in the region of 25 to 30 microns
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Using Fanuc or Heidenhain controls, depending on machine and cell
Carrying out basic inspection using hand held measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met
Working closely with quality and production teams to maintain right first time manufacturing
What we’re looking for in a CNC Machinist:
Essential
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, either as a CNC Miller or CNC Turner
Experience working with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
Confidence working to close tolerances on precision engineered components
Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and cutting parameters
Permanent right to work in the UKDesirable
Ability to program CNC machines from scratch
Experience with offline programming software such as Fusion 360 or similar
Background in precision engineering environments producing tight tolerance components
