We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Principal Process Engineer based out of Exeter or Bristol with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead or Regional Engineering Lead, and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. In order to ensure the above, the individual must coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards pertaining to the contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Produce design layouts which are cost-effective, meet the requirements of the specification, and can be constructed and commissioned effectively. The term ‘cost’ encompasses all costs associated with the design and the subsequent construction of the design, including design time costs, material costs, erection costs, and any impact the design might have on other disciplines.
2. Ensure that standard practices are utilized wherever possible.
3. Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.
4. Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
5. Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes.
6. Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
7. Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT to benefit the entire contract.
8. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
9. Assure customer satisfaction by working within a culture where satisfying the customer is key to achieving other objectives. Customers include end users and other departments within the company.
10. Assist in supervising and developing staff.
11. Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
12. Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities.
13. Ensure designs consider environmental issues.
14. Ensure that designs fully adhere to all health and safety requirements.
