Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Minor Works Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring accurate budgeting. This position requires strong commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of cost control measures to optimise profitability.
Duties
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for Minor Works by from engineer reports, insurance reports, analysing specifications, and other relevant documents.
* Collaborate with engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
* Liaise with suppliers to identify correct parts at most cost effective prices
* Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates and related documentation.
* Monitor job costs throughout to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
* Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
* Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects.
* Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating accuracy.
Qualifications
* Desirable -Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or lift industry.
* Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices - commercially aware
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
