Job Overview
The High Peak South Adult Social Work Long Term Team are based in Buxton and we are seeking to recruit an experienced part‑time Social Worker to join our friendly community‑based team of Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners.
Working Hours
The successful candidate will be expected to work their 18.5hrs on a Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday and Friday each week.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Care Act (2014) face‑to‑face and telephone assessments and reviews.
* Record interventions and maintain case management.
* Build professional links with partner agencies (Health, Police, Housing and PVI sectors).
* Identify signposting opportunities to support carers and promote person‑centred, strength‑based outcomes.
* Respond to duty cover and triage urgent work for adults and carers.
* Manage complex caseloads whilst meeting statutory duties under the Care Act (2014) and local authority requirements.
* Take lead on Section 42 Safeguarding, chair multi‑agency meetings (e.g., MARM), complete Mental Capacity Act (2005) assessments, Best Interest meetings, COP‑DOLs and court work (support and training will be provided if required).
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must be registered or eligible to register with Social Work England and demonstrate high levels of autonomy, accountability and timely record keeping. Experience in social work, ability to work flexible and agile across the High Peak area, and skills to work collaboratively with partner agencies are essential.
Experience with Section 42 Safeguarding, MARM, Mental Capacity Act assessments and related duties is an advantage but training will be provided.
