Aurora Brampton Valley School is opening its doors in late 2026 (tbc) and will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 72 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.

We're looking for enthusiastic and skilled general classroom teachers (in primary and/or secondary) who are deeply passionate about working with children. The role:

As a Teacher, you'll deliver high-quality teaching and learning for our pupils, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, set personalised targets, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
* Monitoring progress and reporting to parents, carers, and senior staff.
* Leading on a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues.
* Managing and supervising support staff within your classroom.
* Maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies.

Skills & Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience of teaching a thematic curriculum within primary or secondary education
* Experience in special school settings, particularly with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
* Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
* Working understanding of ASC and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including complex presentations

Desirable:

* Additional qualifications in SEND
* Experience in curriculum development for learners with SEND
* Nurturing and empathetic relationship building skills

To be offered a role on Upper Pay Scale we will expect you to:

* provide evidence that you are already receiving an Upper Pay Scale salary.
* Hold specific allocated responsibility, once you have completed your induction, that contributes to whole school improvement including the overall raising of standards in the school and demonstrate their ongoing commitment to their own CPD.

Details of the relevant area of responsibility will be discussed with you at interview and further when you join the company.

Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.
