Join Our Team as a Hand Line Pasty Crimper
Hours: 06:00–16:00, 4 days out of 5 (Monday to Friday, with one rotational day off per week)
Breaks: 2 x 30-minute unpaid breaks per shift
Pay: £12.50/hour standard and an enhanced rate of £15.63/hour for hours worked between 20:00 & 06:00 and over 37.5 hours/week
EARLY SIGN-OFF BONUS SCHEME
Fast learner? Fast earner, You can get a £200.00 bonus if you are signed off in week one, or a £100 bonus if you are signed off in week two
All you will need to do to be signed off for this bonus is to keep a steady pace, crimp 4 pasties per minute and ensure each pasty you crimp meets our quality standards. This training process usually takes around 6 weeks to 8 weeks.
What You'll Do
As a Hand Line Pasty Crimper, you'll play a vital role in crafting our beloved, hand-crimped Cornish pasties. With full training provided, this is your opportunity to master a traditional skill in a friendly, supportive environment.
All new crimpers may also be trained in other areas of production to support both personal development and wider business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Crimp like a pro: Produce up to 4 crimped pasties per minute, depending on pasty size.
* Craft with care:
* Remove pre-filled pastry bases,
* fold and evenly distribute filling
* hand-crimp the edges with 18–22 precise folds.
* Ensure quality: Monitor for product build-up and help maintain high standards across the line.
* Work your way:
* Choose to sit or stand,
* chat with teammates,
* sing along to the radio,
* focus quietly if that's your style.
Support your team: A dedicated team leader is always on hand for guidance.
Keep it neat: Short, clean nails are a must.
No Experience? No Problem
We offer comprehensive training to turn you into a confident pasty crimper. You'll also earn your Food Safety Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2 certificates during your probationary period.
