Job Opportunity: Junior Purchasing Assistant (Part Time) Location: Barking Hours: 10:00 – 15:00 (Part Time) Contract: Permanent Reports to: Purchasing Manager We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building supplier relationships, and has a strong eye for detail. Full training will be provided, including use of our bespoke M1 system. Key Responsibilities * Answer calls and emails in a professional, friendly manner * Support the Purchasing Manager with daily administration * Manage supplier acknowledgements, check FSC status, and resolve discrepancies * Update and maintain the M1 order system and track outstanding orders * Process sales and purchase orders, including amendments and picking sheets * Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and resolve late delivery issues * Assist other departments (operations, warehouse, accounts) when required * Maintain office supplies and ensure the workplace remains organised Skills & Competencies * Strong organisation and time-management skills * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Confident using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) * Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines * Attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset * Professional and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team What We Offer * Part-time hours that fit within the working day * Full training and support to become confident with our systems * A friendly and supportive team environment * Opportunities to gain valuable purchasing and administration experience If you’re enthusiastic, organised, and ready to take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
