Are you a Customs Clearance Specialist or similar with experience in import and export across air, road, and sea freight, looking to join a well-established logistics business offering flexible afternoon and weekend shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern, alongside hybrid working and progression opportunities?
This privately owned logistics provider, established for around 20 years, delivers tailored freight solutions across road, air, sea, and rail. They work with a wide network of international partners and carriers, supporting clients across sectors such as manufacturing, retail, FMCG, and construction with everything from standard consignments to more complex shipments.
In this role, you\'ll manage customs activity during out-of-hours shifts, ensuring freight moves smoothly and compliantly across borders. You\'ll process import and export declarations using systems such as Descartes and CDS, coordinate trailer movements, and work with brokers, carriers, and customers to resolve issues and prevent delays. The role also includes handling documentation, supporting DDP processes, and maintaining accurate records in line with AEO standards, working on a 4 on / 4 off hybrid rota.
This role would suit a Customs Coordinator or similar, with experience in customs clearance and UK regulations, looking to join a growing company with progression, training, and strong benefits.
The Role
* Manage import and export customs entries via Descartes/CDS
* Coordinate trailer plans and support road freight movements across the UK and Europe
* Act as the main point of contact for customs-related queries
* Check and prepare documentation including invoices, packing lists, and origin certificates
* Liaise with brokers, carriers, and customs authorities to ensure smooth clearance
* Oversee DDP activity, confirming duties and VAT are correctly handled
* Maintain accurate records in line with AEO compliance and audit requirements
* Handle T1/T2 transit and ATA Carnets
* Hybrid working with a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
The Person
* Proven experience working within UK customs operations
* Experience with Descartes and CDS
* Understanding of multimodal freight (road, air, and sea)
* Commutable to Nottingham
