Overview
There are two positions available.
Responsibilities
* Work independently as part of the Income & Awards team to monitor and audit Direct Payments across the county, providing guidance and support to staff to ensure Direct Payments are properly managed and compliant with Welsh Government guidance on the management of accounts and Direct Payment records.
* Identify, through auditing, where Direct Payment recipients are not using allocated funds appropriately in accordance with social care assessments and not fraudulently spending Local Authority funding.
* Collaborate with social care teams across Powys County Council to ensure safeguards are in place to minimise the risk of financial abuse for service users receiving Direct Payments.
* Reconcile payments via the Powys County Council Service User Account using the Local Authority’s approved electronic banking system.
* Provide advice and guidance on Direct Payment matters to families and service users.

* Knowledge of direct payments.

This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check.
