A leading sixth form college in Bolton is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their small but dynamic Finance and Payroll team. You’ll support the Head of Finance and Payroll in delivering essential operational processes that ensure teaching and student services run smoothly. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone organised, discreet and proactive.
Location: Bolton
Start Date: 20th August 2025
Contract: Part-Time (25 hours/week), Term Time Only, Permanent
Salary: £25,330 – £28,408 per annum (full-time, full-year equivalent). Actual salary is pro rata, based on a part-time, term-time-only basis.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Process payments, ie and purchase ledger transactions
2. Assist with reconciliations and internal financial reports
3. Support budget holders and maintain finance records
4. Handle sensitive data with confidentiality
Key Skills/Experience:
5. Finance experience in a busy environment, preferably within an educational setting
6. Able to manage deadlines and large workloads
7. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
8. Strong IT skills and proficiency in Accounting/Financial Software
