Major Projects Manager
We are seeking an experienced Major Projects Manager to lead the safe, compliant, high-quality and profitable delivery of major construction projects across the UK.
This is a pivotal role with full accountability for site readiness, installation management, quality control, and progress validation. Acting as the primary operational lead on-site, you will ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, agreed programmes, quality standards, and approved budgets.
You will play a key role in protecting project margin by preventing reattendance, quality defects, delays, and handover disputes - while ensuring accurate monthly applications for payment are prepared and supported by verified site progress and quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Office-Based Responsibilities
1. Lead the day-to-day management of the Major Projects delivery function
2. Act as the primary operational contact for all Major Projects
3. Provide first-line escalation for site-related operational and quality issues
4. Liaise with production and logistics teams to resolve delivery or installation constraints
5. Monitor project progress through installation to completion
6. Maintain accurate CRM and ERP records to support forecasting, cash flow and audits
7. Monitor and mitigate installation-driven margin erosion
8. Maintain project trackers, quality logs and dashboards
9. Prepare and submit accurate monthly applications for payment
10. Provide supporting documentation including progress records, quality checks, and sign-off records
11. Support resolution of payment queries and quality-related disputes
Site-Based Responsibilities
12. Attend sites for surveys, site measures and pre-start inspections
13. Confirm site readiness, access, storage and prerequisite works
14. Identify and formally communicate site constraints
15. Support production of RAMS documentation
16. Manage on-site installation in line with contractual and quality standards
17. Enforce installation quality standards
18. Record inspections, corrective actions and ensure defects are resolved prior to handover
About You
We're looking for a confident, commercially aware project leader with strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach to site delivery.
Essential Experience & Skills
19. Proven experience managing Major Projects within construction or façade sectors
20. Strong site-based delivery and quality control experience
21. Experience inspecting, validating and signing off installed works
22. SMSTS and CSCS certification
Desirable
23. ADSA BS/EN Standards Authorised Technician (training available if required)
