Salary: £43,550 - 52,000 per year Requirements: Working and demonstrable knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL (essential) Working and demonstrable knowledge and experience of Oracle and PostgreSQL (preferable) In-depth experience in database migrations and consolidation (essential) Good working experience of database observability and troubleshooting issues (essential) Exposure to cloud technologies (Azure SQL PaaS) (essential) Knowledge of governance or architectural practices and working within a regulated industry (advantageous) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong problem-solving skills in a customer-focused IT environment Ability to effectively prioritize workload Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to completion Responsibilities: Provide technical ownership of the NFUM Database Estate Maintain the stability of the Database Estate Assist with the resolution of database-related P1, P2, and P3 incidents Review and approve change requests across the NFUM database estate Assess potential impacts and distribute detailed reviews to relevant resources and stakeholders Assess database performance and make recommendations for improvement Define database guardrails and build standards Ensure all third-party providers adhere to defined standards Assess opportunities for consolidation and cost savings across the database environment Represent the team at the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Collaborate with external IT partners and vendors to drive service improvements Technologies: Azure Cloud Oracle PaaS PostgreSQL SQL Support Network More: We are NFU Mutual, one of the UKs leading general insurance and financial services organizations, dedicated to putting our customers and employees at the heart of everything we do.
