1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Location: Washington, Newcastle upon Tyne, England
Milk Education is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Washington to appoint a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant to support a child in Lower Key Stage 2 on a full‑time basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child in Lower KS2 with SEND needs.
* Assist with learning activities, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
* Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate
* Has previous experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH or similar needs).
* Demonstrates patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
* Can adapt to different learning styles and provide individualised support.
* Is committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives.
