Indirect Tax Assistant Manager
Base Location: Reading or Belfast plus network of 20 offices nationally

KPMG has a leading Indirect Tax practice in the UK, providing advice and support on VAT, Customs Duty, and Green taxes to diverse sectors, including large multinationals, retailers, and public sector organizations.
The Indirect Tax team is dynamic and growing, with 13 partners and around 186 staff nationwide. We support clients with various indirect tax issues, including specialists in Retail, Supply Chain, and International Trade, collaborating closely with Trade & Customs, Corporate, and Employment tax teams.
What will you be doing?
* Providing indirect tax advice to clients to help achieve their business goals.
* Supporting senior team members in delivering client projects.
* Maintaining direct contact with clients and developing lasting relationships.
* Assisting in business development initiatives.
* Mentoring and developing Tax Assistants.
* Identifying opportunities to implement technology solutions for compliance and advisory projects.
* Contributing to a diverse and friendly team environment.
What will you need to do it?
* Qualified ACA, CTA, Solicitor, or with at least 3 years of relevant indirect tax experience.
* Existing VAT/IPT knowledge or transferable skills.
* Commitment to developing your indirect tax expertise.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
* Attention to detail.
* Excellent relationship-building skills.
* Ability to identify issues and opportunities for clients.
* Positive attitude and resilience under pressure.
* Eagerness to learn and deliver quality work.
