The London Borough of Haringey is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Social Worker to join our diverse and supportive team. Key Responsibilities
You will manage a varied caseload of complex and diverse mental health needs, utilising your expertise to support individuals and their families. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Exceptional Assessment & Intervention: Applying your excellent assessment skills to determine needs and risks, and developing person-centred support plans.
* Crisis Management: Being confident and competent in working with service users and carers during times of crisis, providing timely and effective support.
* Outcome-Focused Practice: Working with individuals and families in an outcome-focused way, championing a Strength-Based approach to empower service users to achieve their goals.
* Advocacy & Equality: Working within, and actively advocating for, principles of non-discriminatory practice to ensure equality of access for service users with mental ill health to mainstream provision where appropriate.
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Establishing and maintaining strong professional links with colleagues, other services, and sectors of the community to ensure joined-up care.
* Maintaining Professional Excellence: Maintaining a current and up to date knowledge of research, policies, and best practice in mental health social work, and applying this knowledge daily.
* Team Commitment: Contributing to the smooth running of the team, supporting colleagues, and actively participating in team development initiatives.
What You'll Bring
* A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., degree, diploma).
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Significant post-qualifying experience in a Mental Health setting (ideally within a Local Authority or NHS partnership).
* Proven ability to manage a complex caseload.
* A strong commitment to continued learning and professional development.
* A dedication to anti-oppressive practice and promoting the independence of service users.
