The role
With state-of-the-art infrastructure and recent investments in VBS and technology, we seek a dedicated individual to support our Operations team at London Gateway.
As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will load and unload HGV vehicles in the yard using advanced lifting equipment ranging from 2.5 to 72 tonnes, work as part of a team, and participate in various projects. You will be trained in operating all equipment and systems; prior experience is not required.
Key responsibilities
* Service vehicles with correct containers promptly.
* Stack shipping containers.
* Shunt containers to and from the terminal efficiently.
* Operate container handling equipment safely and effectively.
* Coordinate with yard team and controllers for efficiency and accuracy.
* Service reefer and M&R areas.
* Perform general yard duties.
* Maintain health and safety standards.
About you
* Holder of a full UK driving licence.
* Deep understanding of health and safety, committed to safe practices.
Preferred but not required
* Previous forklift experience.
* Experience in the container industry.
