Venatu Recruitment is proud to announce that a bespoke client within the food industry is seeking a Production Manager to join their site in Bicester. The client is a well-established, high-quality, bespoke food manufacturer with 30 years of trading, committed to excellence and quality. Due to growth, they are looking for a Production Manager to oversee planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes from concept to launch.
The ideal candidate has a background as a Chef and has progressed to a Production Manager role in the same field, preferably in a premium, branded restaurant.
This full-time role offers a salary of £45k - £55k DOE, working 40 hours per week from 7AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday.
The main purpose of the role is to oversee manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production meeting quality and regulatory standards.
Job Duties Include:
* Ensure production schedules align with customer demand, budget, and quality standards.
* Coordinate staff and raw materials for daily operations and new product launches.
* Ensure all products meet customer standards.
* Develop and monitor performance metrics in collaboration with the Operations Director.
* Improve processes and procedures for continuous improvement, compliance, and quality.
* Lead, motivate, and manage the production workforce, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
* Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
* Participate in audits and ensure compliance with legal and food safety standards.
* Liaise with maintenance to ensure equipment functionality.
* Work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Update management on opportunities and risks through meetings.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Operations, or Engineering.
* At least 2 years as a Production Manager.
* Background as a Chef, ideally from a premium, branded restaurant.
* Data analysis skills for decision-making.
* Motivated, results-oriented, and solutions-driven.
* Strong communication skills.
* Knowledge of food safety legislation (Food Safety Level 3).
* Proficiency with CCP, HACCP, and Salsa principles.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently and in teams.
* Ability to motivate and manage diverse skill levels in a growing environment.
