Interim Business Consultant (Manufacturing)
Contract: 6‑month initial contract, potential extension to 12 months
About the Role
We're looking for an Interim Businesss Project Consultant to help drive operational excellence and support strategic initiatives across our manufacturing organisation. You'll work closely with leaders, cross‑functional teams, and frontline operations to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and enable meaningful, sustainable change.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you'll act as a trusted advisor-bringing strong analytical capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and excellent people skills.
The role:
* Assess current processes to uncover inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
* Analyse performance data to identify trends and root causes.
* Build business cases, including financial modelling and ROI evaluation.
* Facilitate diagnostic workshops (e.g., process mapping, value‑stream mapping, failure analysis).
* Lead or support improvement projects across operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and support teams.
* Develop project plans, documentation, and milestone tracking.
* Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth deployment of new processes or systems.
* Contribute to strategic planning and organisational capability development.
* Provide insights on performance, capability gaps, and process maturity.
* Help embed a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision‑making.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Background in consulting, business improvement, project management, or operational excellence-preferably within manufacturing.
Desirable
* Experience with digital transformation programmes.
* Familiarity with project management frameworks.
