Vacancy: Health, Safety and Environment Advisor (Maternity Cover 9-12 month)
Location: Hampton Court Palace with potential to work at other Historic Royal Palace sites.
Type of role: Fixed Term/ Full time

The Health, Safety and Environment Advisor is responsible for providing an effective, professional safety advisory service to management and staff at Palaces Group sites, and HRP’s warehouse facilities. They provide the Heads of Palaces and Palaces Group Director with advice and assurance to ensure compliance with HRP’s policies, procedures and guidance. Reporting to the HRP Fire, Health & Safety Manager, they contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures for the effective management of safety across HRP. The HSE Advisor will deputise for the Fire, Health and Safety Manager where required.
Responsibilities
* Provide an effective, professional safety advisory service to management and staff at Palaces Group sites, and HRP’s warehouse facilities.
* Provide Heads of Palaces and Palaces Group Director with advice and assurance to ensure compliance with HRP’s policies, procedures and guidance.
* Report to the HRP Fire, Health & Safety Manager and contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures for the effective management of safety across HRP.
* Deputise for the Fire, Health and Safety Manager where required.

Qualifications and experience
* A proactive, skilled HSE professional with strong communication abilities and the confidence to advise, train and support colleagues across historic and operationally complex sites.
* Solid technical knowledge, at least two years’ safety experience.
* Ability to work collaboratively while promoting a positive safety culture.
* Balance practical safety solutions with the unique needs of heritage environments and large public events.
