Senior Drainage Engineer
Location: Bristol (with options in Liverpool or Birmingham)
Rate: £45-£50 per hour
Contract: Rolling 3‑month contract
Role Overview
Support a portfolio of large‑scale civil projects focusing on surface water and temporary drainage design. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, practical, and compliant designs.
Key Duties
* Produce surface water drainage designs for major civil and infrastructure schemes
* Support temporary works and interim design solutions
* Use InfoDrainage and Civil 3D to develop and refine designs
* Undertake site assessments and resolve technical challenges
* Design drainage features including basins, ditches, pumping systems, and treatment processes
* Ensure all work aligns with current standards and regulatory requirements
* Prepare clear and accurate technical reports and supporting documentation
About You
* Proven experience in drainage design, ideally within highways or major civils
* Strong working knowledge of InfoDrainage and Civil 3D
* Experience delivering surface water solutions beyond standard pipe networks
* Ability to produce detailed technical documentation
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
