We are looking for an Industrial Composite Engineer to join the Airbus Protect Industrial Innovation Team within the Sustainability Business Unit, in Filton. The main objective of the team is to mature new technologies in R&T and to disseminate mature technologies in order to improve legacy & future programs. The jobholder is responsible for the development and maturation of New Composite Manufacturing Technologies covering the complete manufacturing process (from laying to finishing) up to industrial maturity demonstration at full scale and the following dissemination of these technologies.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to Industrial Strategy for composite Technology for short, mid and long-term term (R&T)
* Support the dissemination of technology across the plants.
* Define & Perform physical trials.
* Collaborate with partners such as Technological centers or suppliers for new developments.
* Lead projects for Industrialization of technologies.
* Manage risks inside the R&T and dissemination projects.
The role will be based in Filton, UK and may require travels depending upon specific projects and engagement with all sites.
Qualifications
* You hold an Engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
* Experience with Tooling for Composites, including supplier management and delivery.
* Fundamental knowledge on Composite, including Dry/Pre-Pregs.
* Experience with Resin Infusion / Injection.
* Experienced industrializing projects related to composite manufacturing.
* Project Management experience (local and transnational).
* Able to define Design for Manufacture requirements & challenge State of the Art designs.
* Automation & Robotics Knowledge would be plus.
* Knowledge of Composite Quality requirements, including manufacturing Specifications, Processes & Standards.
* Negotiation level in English.
* Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
* Demonstrate a strong vision of what the future industrial system should look like.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and transnational environment, understanding of the Airbus context.
* Creative, open mindset, willingness to explore and learn.
* Team player.
* Problem solving skills.
