The Role
We're supporting a Nottingham‑based organisation with the appointment of an Interim Finance Business Partner to provide hands‑on, operational finance support. This is a highly visible, on‑site role working closely with operational leaders to drive performance, challenge cost, and improve day‑to‑day financial control.
This is not a strategic or remote role - it requires someone comfortable being in the business, building relationships quickly, and getting into the detail.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as the finance lead to operational and commercial teams, providing day‑to‑day business partnering
2. Deliver weekly and monthly management reporting, variance analysis and commentary
3. Support cost control, margin analysis and performance tracking across operational units
4. Build and maintain robust forecasts and budgets, translating operational activity into financial outcomes
5. Challenge assumptions, identify risks/opportunities and support decision‑making at site level
6. Improve financial disciplines, KPIs and reporting processes where required
7. Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate month‑end close and data integrity
Required Experience
8. Proven experience as an Interim Finance Business Partner or Senior Management Accountant
9. Strong operational business partnering background (manufacturing, logistics, FMCG, engineering, distribution, or similar environments)
10. Comfortable working 5 days per week on site and operating at pace
11. Highly hands‑on - able to own reporting, analysis and stakeholder conversations end‑to‑end
12. Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge operational stakeholders
