These settings support pupils with SEMH and ASC needs and offer highly structured, nurturing environments with small teaching groups of up to 10 pupils. The role will involve teaching English across KS3 and KS4. At KS4, you will support learners working towards GCSE English, while KS3 pupils may present with significant academic delays. As such, these roles may particularly suit a primary-trained practitioner or a secondary teacher confident delivering a more differentiated, skills-based curriculum. Pupils are often anxious learners who may display challenging behaviour linked to emotional regulation, trauma, or communication needs. Staff are expected to use trauma-informed, relational approaches, with a strong emphasis on consistency, predictability, and de-escalation.
