Major Gifts Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated Major Gifts Officer with outstanding decision-making and multi-tasking skills to join the dedicated Fundraising Department.
Position Details
* Position: 1935 Major Gifts Officer
* Location: Nominally based in Sidmouth, Devon – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – with hybrid working options (fully remote/home working and flexible working patterns considered)
* Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 08:30-16:30, Monday-Friday (part-time applications considered: 28 hours over 4 days)
* Salary: £30,515 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
* Closing Date: Wednesday 1 June 2025 (may close early if a suitable candidate is found)
* Interview Date: During the week commencing 23 June 2025 in Sidmouth
About the Role
As Major Gifts Officer, you will support the delivery of the Major Gifts Strategy by cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of mid-value individuals and trusts, executing projects, and improving supporter engagement activities in collaboration with the Major Gifts Managers.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting the delivery and enhancement of the Major Gifts Strategy and performance.
2. Growing the supporter base contributing mid and major gifts through cultivation and stewardship programs.
3. Managing and attending meetings and events, liaising with suppliers, managing invite lists, follow-ups, and budgets.
4. Securing and stewarding a portfolio of active donors and trusts, preparing compelling bids and reports, and maintaining strong relationships.
5. Researching current and potential donors to adopt a donor-centric approach.
6. Reporting on development projects, fundraising targets, and KPIs.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting or managing mid-value or major donors, with a proven track record of exceeding fundraising or sales targets. Strong interpersonal, communication, research, prospecting, project, and event management skills are essential.
