Business Support Assistant

We are seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our Business Administration service, supporting the Special Educational Needs Statutory Assessment and Provision team (SENSAP). This role is crucial in enabling children and young people with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access the right educational support and provision to achieve their life aspirations. You will be instrumental in meeting statutory deadlines through the referral process and will primarily use the Synergy suite of applications, which hosts all Leeds pupil level educational data.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Communicate clearly and effectively, handling queries through our inbox with high attention to detail and confidentiality (GDPR compliance).
* Enter approved orders for services into the appropriate financial system promptly.
* Work with partners to ensure processes and systems around the processing of invoices meet the needs of the Adults and Health service areas, such as Older People, Learning Disability, Mental Health, etc.
* Maintain high levels of accuracy in tasks such as checking documents and recording numerical and alphabetical information.
* Identify problems, suggest improvements, and implement solutions.
* Use initiative and judgement to provide outcomes and solutions from a range of options.
* Manage own workload, adhering to timescales and deadlines.
* Carry out general administrative duties, analyse and collate data, and use it to produce reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong administrative background, ideally within a public setting.
* Holds or is expected to gain a GCSE level C or above in English Language and Maths, or equivalent.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective interaction via face-to-face, telephone, and written communication.
* Experience with relevant applications, systems, and IT programmes utilised by the service.
* Ability to work independently and within multiple teams, contributing to development with innovative ideas for new ways of working.
