Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Aftertreatment Integration Test Engineering student to join our team in Darlington, specializing in Engineering within our CES ONHWY Performance business unit. During this placement, you will gain valuable industry experience, learning how a major global organization operates and developing your technical skills.
This placement is open to candidates eligible for a placement year, starting on 7th July 2025. The position is 100% site-based.
Responsibilities:
* Interpret test requests for Euro VI and Stage V diesel engine and aftertreatment development testing in engine dynamometer test cells.
* Write test instructions, prepare test scripts, and manage logging files.
* Manage prototype equipment inventories at various storage facilities.
* Ensure hardware is available and correctly set up for testing; oversee test cell operations and support staff as needed.
* Analyze test data to assess quality and troubleshoot issues related to equipment or software.
* Provide solutions for hardware, software, and procedural issues in test cell operations.
This hands-on role offers opportunities to perform testing, support equipment installation, and gain real-world experience in test engineering, supported by formal and informal training.
Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field.
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
* Methodical, data-driven problem-solving skills, with strong teamwork and communication abilities.
* Knowledge of diesel engine architecture or test cell operation is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
