Job Description Head of Finance – Permanent – based in Corby, NN17 Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly accomplished Management Accountant with extensive senior leadership experience to oversee the financial operations of all European entities, including the UK business. This is a strategic and operational leadership role, requiring a proven track record of managing multi-entity, multi-currency financial structures at a senior level. As Head of Finance you will hold full financial responsibility for operations across the UK and Europe, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and delivery of financial performance in line with group objectives. This senior leadership position demands a high-calibre finance professional with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in senior finance roles, specifically within manufacturing environments with multi-site operations. This individual will be instrumental in shaping and executing financial strategy, driving cost optimisation, evaluating investment opportunities, and supporting long-term business planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, analytical rigour, and a hands-on operational mindset, coupled with the ability to influence at board level. The role will also play a critical part in identifying opportunities for financial improvement, managing tax exposure, and enhancing the overall financial strength of the business. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Drive the financial strategy for UK and European operations, ensuring alignment with group objectives. Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership to guide decision-making and long-term planning. Financial Planning & Reporting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies. Deliver insightful analysis to support cost efficiency and profitability. Cost Control & Operational Efficiency: Identify cost-saving opportunities, manage financial controls, and drive improvements across departments and manufacturing sites. Investment & Growth: Evaluate investment opportunities, including M&A and CapEx projects, supporting business expansion and strategic growth initiatives. Tax & Risk Management: Oversee tax planning and ensure compliance while proactively managing financial and operational risks across jurisdictions. Person Specification: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel modelling. Strong expertise in evaluating investment opportunities and understanding capital expenditure processes. In-depth knowledge of financial forecasting, planning, and risk management. Experience in driving business strategy through financial insight and decision support. Ability to analyse complex financial data and present it in a clear, actionable manner. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Experience: Fully qualified CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification or equivalent, with significant experience in a senior finance role. Minimum 10 years’ senior financial management experience, with at least 5 years overseeing multi-entity and multi-country operations. Proven expertise in manufacturing or industrial environments and experience in management accounting, with a focus on cost analysis, budgeting, and financial performance management. Exceptional operational finance skills, with a track record of delivering strategic cost savings and margin improvement initiatives with quantifiable results. Demonstrable track record of managing multi-entity, multi-currency P&L and balance sheet responsibility at a senior level.
