Job Title: Biomedical Scientist - Microbiologist Banding: Band 6 Location: Hull, Yorkshire Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with potential weekend cover) Start Date: ASAP Rate: £23 – £26 per hour Duration: Ongoing We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Microbiologist to join our client’s laboratory team in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established microbiology department, supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of microbiological investigations, including the processing and analysis of clinical specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results to support patient care. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain laboratory standards and may be required to provide weekend cover as needed. Key Responsibilities You will be expected to conduct microbiological testing on clinical specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. You will also be responsible for accurately interpreting and reporting test results, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and collaborating with clinical teams to support diagnosis and treatment. Qualifications and Experience HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist. Proven experience in a microbiology laboratory setting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
