Owen Daniels are supporting an established precision manufacturing business is seeking a Planning / Manufacturing Engineer to join its office-based engineering function. This role is well suited to an organised, detail-focused engineer who enjoys coordinating manufacturing activity, defining methods of manufacture and supporting production through effective planning and process control.
Working closely with manufacturing, purchasing and quality teams, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient production flow, accurate documentation and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Define and document methods of manufacture from customer component definitions
Support fixture and tooling design to enable efficient manufacturing
Provide planning and engineering support to manufacturing operations
Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and work instructions
Monitor resource requirements and capacity to support production plans
Use ERP / MRP systems to plan, track and report manufacturing activity
Liaise with production, purchasing and quality teams to ensure delivery targets are met
Support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysisSkills & Experience Required
Proficiency with SolidWorks (SolidCAM or EdgeCAM experience beneficial)
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Experience within a manufacturing or production planning environment (preferred)
Background or exposure to aerospace and/or power generation components desirable
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Confident user of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
